Isla Cristina is at the mouth of the Guadiana River on the Costa de la Luz in South-West Spain. There is a 15-km stretch of magnificent sandy beaches, which are surrounded by marshland and natural parks full of flamingos and storks. It is close to the border with Portugal and is a popular resort with Spanish holiday-makers (particularly from Seville) and also with foreign property buyers.

It is very busy during the Summer months with the hotels being booked up well in advance. Good news if you are buying a property, particularly to rent out as you can achieve an excellent rental income during the high season.
The fishing port is one of the most important in Andalucía and is famous for its fresh fish and canned tuna and mackerel and salted fish.
